This series is called Urban Distraction, a fun and energetic look at some of my favorite cities. It's acrylic paint and cut up magazines. The profusion of color and texture gains structure from the shape of the city. There is a deliberate balance of chaos and control which make the paintings fun and interesting to look at. The color from afar brightens and happyfies a room, but look up close for a lot of funny and interesting elements. This series is heavily influenced by America’s foremost collage artist, Romare Beardon.
